Why Does The Main Beam Of a Semi Trailer Break

The main beam of a semi trailer is the most important part of its load-bearing capacity, but what is the reason for the broken main beam of the semi trailer during use? As follows:

Manufacturer's Reasons:

1. Some customers may seek to buy low-priced semi-trailers at a low price, and the poor quality steel of the semi-trailer beam directly affects the quality of the beam, which cannot bear the weight used and directly causes the beam to break.

2. Some trailer manufacturers also reduce the thickness of the main beam to save costs, such as reducing the original 14mm thick vertical plates to 10mm thick ones. And the user doesn't know, they still pull the goods according to the 14mm thick bearing capacity. It is reasonable for the beam to break due to prolonged overload work.

3. The materials and technology used in small factories are not mature, and a series of problems such as low-quality steel and cutting corners may cause the beam to break.

Not Used Correctly:

1. Apart from the manufacturing reasons mentioned above, the main beam of the semi-trailer itself is not a problem, but many users have caused fractures due to improper use. The most common reason is that the long-term overload of the cargo exceeds the design value of the trailer, and the main beam cannot bear the weight of the cargo, resulting in fracture.

2. Then there is the concentrated load, which makes it easy for trailers to break the main beam.

3. Another type is that semi trailers that frequently run in mountainous areas are also prone to breaking the main beam. The main beam of trailers that run in mountainous areas bears much greater twisting force than those that run on flat roads. The specifications of the upper and lower wings and web plates of the main beam must be larger, otherwise it is easy to break the main beam.
